Dress codes & Christmas parties - Festive edition

12/5/2018

If you are just like me and your calender is filled up with so many festive events and parties in December, come and choose the perfect outfit with me! I've been thinking of all the possible dress codes that can appear on an invitation card this time of the year. I was selecting outfits according to these dress codes, just to make you inspired and well prepared for the festive season: Christmas party, family events, New Year's Eve, you name it. You will find all kind of shapes and colors, huge variety. Before shopping I always have a look at my wardrobe and try to mix and match the pieces I already have, I often make a photo of the look as well, very practical trick! After all I only need to buy the pieces and accessories, that will compliment the whole outfit.  I skipped casual wear, which normally means, comfortable, everyday look. I'm starting with smart casual and step by step I'll reach the highest level of dress codes, which is the White Tie.

Business Casual Dress Code - Blue Dreams

This is the standard office dress code, but it may appear on party invitations as well. The aim is to look polished while adding a bit of festive touch. A classy, feminine dress can be a good idea, or a silk top - blazer - trousers combination is also chick. See my choices in beautiful blue shades!

Cocktail Attire - Gorgeous Green

You will see this dress code on the invitations quite often during Christmas time. It definitely calls for above knee-high cocktail dress. You can play with cute cuts, gorgeous material and embellished details. I chose green versions this time.

Festive Dress Code - Sparking solutions

This is the typical dress code during the holiday period. The key is to pop up your look with festive details like velvet, sequin, bows or glitter. I would wear cocktail dress or jumpsuits. Really elegant and flattering with special details. I adore the Talbot Runhof piece with its classy shape, elegant material and festive color. I've found these gorgeous earrings as well, divine!

Cocktail dress

My second choice is a red cocktail dress for any festive occasions. Red makes you stand out of the crowd, pair it with gold tones and your look will set the mood.

Glamorous details

If you have a simple black pencil skirt or trousers, wear it with a special piece! Invest in sparky details: velvet blazer, glamorous earrings, shiny clutch, metal skirt, any of the fabulous pieces below will make you look like a party queen.

Semi Formal Dress - The little black dress and rose gold

This dress code can be a tricky one, I went to a party last time, where semi formal was required, hence some of the ladies appeared in long, evening gowns. That's not the right choice! Semi formal is just a notch below black tie. The classy little black dress with a twist can be the best solution in this case. I was also choosing sleek sandals with rose gold and bronze details. How do you like them?

Jumpsuits and playsuits

I also find appropriate an elegant jumpsuit or playsuit in champagne or bronze shades. Extremely flattering and elegant choice! The Zuhair Murad playsuit is so sophisticated. Animal print trend is huge this year. If you are a fashionable girl, dear to wear the D&G piece!

Swarovski bracelets

You know me, I'm a Swarovski fan. I was browsing their new collection online and I've found these gorgeous rose gold bracelets. I don't think I would be able to choose just one, I love them all.

Black Tie

Do you know what to wear for an event, where black tie is the dress code? Floor - length gown is pretty much required. I was highlighting pink and silver combinations. All gowns are just divine. I fall in love with these Swarovski watches. Your look will be complete with one of these beautiful, festive clutches below.

White Tie

We arrived to the highest level of dress code, however it's rarely used nowadays. Full-length ball gowns and long gloves are traditionally have been worn for White Tie. It's the most elegant outfit,  you could possibly wear. If you ever receive an invitation with this dress code, make the most out of it and don't be afraid to sparkle! I again completed the outfits with Swarovski earrings and necklaces. The fabulous long gloves are from Dents.
