Easter is very important in the Christian countries. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, it's not just an important Christian heritage but Easter Monday brings along old Hungarian traditions as well.
"Locsolkodás" – It's a funny tradition on Easter Monday, boys reciting a poem to girls and then "sprinkling" them with perfume or even with a bucket of water. In return for the "locsolkodás" men received beautifully decorated eggs, some homemade food and Pálinka of course. Originally young women of marriage-age were "threatened" by the sprinkling tradition. Food is important part of the celebrations, on Easter Sunday meat dishes are eaten typically: cooked or smoked ham served with horseradish and boiled eggs, "kalács" (Milk Loaf) is served as well.
