This wedding on Saturday was so inspirational, I decided to share with you some tipical wedding customs of my country. Today Hungarian weddings are more like the USA weddings, brides wear white dress. However the traditional bridal dress was colorful and embroidered with flower motif, like woven wheat was the symbol of fertility. In the past the entire village escorted the bride from her home to the groom's home, today an elegant reception is organized where the guests are greeted by the young couple. In Hungary the civil ceremony takes place in the courthouse and it's followed by the church ceremony, which is optional. In the northern part of the county there are some beautiful roman style churches like this one in Zubogy. It was build in the middle ages, however it got burned during the past and some gothic elements joined the look. The church is stunning with all these painted wooden decoration, gothic style windows and romantic park. I was happy to visit this church in the frame of the wedding ceremony. The wedding reception is typically an endless party with a lot of traditional food, including chicken soup, fried meat and vegetables. Stuffed cabbage is often served at night as a "midnight breakfast". According to the customs the new bride has to dance a "money dance" or ""bridal dance", we call it "Menyecske tánc". Each guest has to pay to dance with the bride, normally they drop money into a huge bowl, which is supervised by the Godmother. The bride is dancing in a traditional, red folk outfit. Source: www.oltarelott.hu When the groom thinks that the bride was dancing enough, he takes the bowl and they run away together. According to the traditions, while the just married couple is running away, the guests try to steal her shoes. Those guests who have successfully stolen the bride's shoes are given the right to create some difficult tests or challenges for the couple. If they will complete those challenges successfully, the bride will get her shoes back. This game is often part of the Hungarian weddings even today.
If you have any odd or funny wedding customs in your home country, share it with me! XOXO

While shopping with my friend, Anna in Budapest, we've found this amazing brand Musette (http://musette.ro/eu) on the Váci street. Bright, summer colors, Italian quality leather, unique and fun design. Look at these gorgeous shoes. I loved the gold pumps, suits all kind of look. if you are looking for something really elegant, these green and red sandals with the matching evening bags are made for you. Shimmer block heels are in for this season, great choice for a summer evening wear. Anna absolutely loved this coral handbag. It suits her very well, fun and fresh color for such a beautiful, young girl. This small handbag with the flower detail is a creative way of accessorizing your bag, flowers are big trends on clothes, shoes or bags, makes your look bright and stylish. Sneakers are accessorized with feathers and shiny stones, you can also take the feather accessory off, that's one thing why I've found Musette so unique, you can wear their bags and shoes in different ways, giving a whole new style to your outfit. In the store you will find the shoes in various colors designed with special accessories. In case you are really into natural, nude and pale pink colors, you will love the shoes and bags below. All in all we were glad to discover this brand in Budapest while shopping, drop by and check out their latest collection! Second choice for Hollywood party. Gorgeous outfit. Yes or No?

There are several shopping streets in Budapest, the most elegant one is definitely the Andrássy with its high-class shops, elegant, eclectic style buildings and chic cafés.
Easter is very important in the Christian countries. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, it's not just an important Christian heritage but Easter Monday brings along old Hungarian traditions as well.
"Locsolkodás" – It's a funny tradition on Easter Monday, boys reciting a poem to girls and then "sprinkling" them with perfume or even with a bucket of water. In return for the "locsolkodás" men received beautifully decorated eggs, some homemade food and Pálinka of course. Originally young women of marriage-age were "threatened" by the sprinkling tradition. Food is important part of the celebrations, on Easter Sunday meat dishes are eaten typically: cooked or smoked ham served with horseradish and boiled eggs, "kalács" (Milk Loaf) is served as well. This is my countryside on the Northern part of Hungary in a hidden village. It feels good to be close to nature, so peaceful and lovely.
Maira Ortins exhibition opening: "Liquid space where butterflies sleep." She is an incredibly creative Brazilian artist, I loved the color and the aqua motifs in her paintings. All of her masterpieces are for sale and you can visit the exhibition until the end of April at If Cafe in Budapest. More on her work: https://mairaortins.wordpress.com
